deep dive · from $1200 per month

Not advice. Execution oversight

The Scan delivers a diagnosis and a plan. Deep Dive is the months in which that plan becomes done work.

01What this is

I don't come to advise. I come to make sure what we agreed on gets done — and to change the plan when reality shows it was wrong.

The difference from consulting is simple. A consultant hands over recommendations and leaves. Here I stay and show weekly what moved and what didn't — including the weeks when nothing moved.

02Weekly rhythm

TouchpointWhat
NumbersThree to five metrics we agreed to track. Delivered on a fixed day
Working hourA call with the owner: what stalled, what we decide, what changes in the plan
StatusOne page in writing: done · not done · why · next week

The frequency is fixed — three touchpoints a week, one of them written. The days and the format adapt to the operational reality of the business.

04Decision log

Every decision is recorded: what we decided, why, who does it, which metric we measure, and when we come back to check.

Two months later nobody asks "why did we do this" — the answer was written on the day the decision was made. And the "review by" column stops a rule from fossilising: circumstances change, and a decision made in January shouldn't run on inertia in March.

05The result metric

At the start we fix which number has to move for the work to count as effective. Six elements:

ElementExample
MetricCustomer acquisition cost
Baseline$80
Target≤ $60
Deadline12 weeks
Data sourceWhere the number comes from
Who reports itA specific person, weekly

The last row isn't a formality: without it, week six arrives and nobody has been counting, leaving nothing to measure the effect against.

06The second-week rule

07When the work is finished

Three conditions, all verifiable. All three must hold:

  • The constraint is removed or materially easedand it shows in the metric we named at the start
  • The change runs without my oversightfor at least three consecutive weeks
  • You name the next constraint yourselfand show the metric you'll use to keep watch

08Terms

  • From $1200 per monthpaid monthly in advance. A paid month is a month of work. Want to stop — don't pay for the next one
  • Minimum 3 monthsless makes no sense: changes don't have time to produce a signal
  • Only after a Scanthere is nothing to oversee without a diagnosis
  • No more than 3 clients at a timethat's honesty about capacity, not marketing
